Doctors warn against resurgence of H1N1
DENVER - If you think flu season is over, think again. While the regular flu season is coming to an end, the H1N1 flu season could be seeing a major comeback.

Doctors say the H1N1 flu virus actually thrives in warmer weather and that is why new cases are popping up.

Denver resident Jimmy Aspinwall was recently diagnosed with H1N1 flu.

He says he did not heed the vaccine warnings and now regrets it.

"I usually get my flu shot, but I didn't want to go back twice. I was a little too lazy. I went through three days of hell. It would have been the best 30 bucks I'd ever spent," Aspinwall said.

Authorities say now is still a good time to get the vaccine because of the resurgence of cases of H1N1 flu.

"We're seeing now ... a new wave of H1N1 flu this spring and it's something we're watching very closely," Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services Kathy Sebelius said. "This is a serious illness. We've had about 60 million Americans sick with ... about 260,000 hospitalized and about 12,000 deaths."

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- If you thought we'd heard the last of the H1N1 swine flu pandemic, don't bet on it.
Several Southeastern states are seeing an unusual springtime uptick in the number of flu hospitalizations, prompting the CDC on Monday to call a news conference and remind laggards to get vaccinated.

and we are still having one or two deaths a week in a lot of states. It just isn't getting the press.

Hong Kong has also had a big uptick in flu cases recently and has extended vacations because of it.

A small uptick in Bird flu H5N1 is happening overseas which I am still keeping an eye on.

6. It has not gone away
the press just has left it alone for a while and moved on. People are still becoming ill and some are dying. They are keeping an eye out for another wave. shrug

7. Someone's under pressure to move product
Despite their best efforts, they never did manage to create enough hysteria to drive us all to take these untested vaccines.

Maybe they can pass a law with the Congressmen they own? Hire some new cops to frog-march us down to the clinics for our forced medication? It's for your own good, you know - trust us!

8. Interesting - I just heard a casual report on the radio saying there was excess vaccine
About a week ago I had the radio on and they said something about there being lots of excess vaccine on the shelves around the state. I think they said something like 20,000 doses(?) had gone unused from some recent stockpiling.
