They've gotten brazen follks |
|
and by the way if you are a believer, Happy Easter, (It is sadly part of the story)
So I went to the market to get my stuff and I decided to get a cup of coffee. Here is this older gentleman who takes a seat and just out of nowhere tells me how Matzah is made with blood of christian kids and how we should go hunt them down!
Now some of us have been around long enough to KNOW an anti-semite when we see one. So I confronted him on it, and he started regaling me on how Jews pray to demons... how the hell we went from praying to the father to demons I don't know. But if the father is a demon, well so is the son... no I did not go there. But I did think about it.
So I decided to go for the jugular. "Well far better than following rites that include human sacrifice and fertility rites that go back oh at least 3000 years. Are you also into snake handling?" (Ah the Temples of Ishtar included all these)
He got a tad miffled.
Oh and by the way, I guess you will be celebrating soon, the birthday of your hero, on the 29th... he got the connection REAL FAST, and walked away. I mean he almost started screaming, but thankfully he stood up and walked away... his fists clenched, his teeth clenched and his body shaking... I mean I did call him not exactly a Christian. And I came this close to outright calling him a nazi.
Now realize on the other table were sitting these two older people, one of them pulled up his shirt, and there for all to see you could see the numbers. He thanked me and said he wished more people confronted the animals back then.
By the way he never quite learned that I AM Jewish nominally and my dad survived the Holocaust, but damn they are getting brazen... and yes I can blame the current fringe media. Oh and I also realize that every time I confront one of these assholes I am taking my life into my own hands, before anybody asks why most people don't confront them. Alas if we are to retake the country I fear we need to do this more. And yes, there is a risk in doing this.

they sell coffee at that particular store, so you can actually get coffee and some light readying before you do your shopping. They have few tables so usually people ask to sit down with others.

I'm not Jewish but I would hope I would have done the same thing. Of course, I wouldn't have had Hitlers birthday available to me on the fly. That was impressive.

15. The eggs that are part of Easter |
|
go back to the fertility rites of the ancient Middle East. They stand for the maidens who worked the Temples of Ishtar. They also handled snakes at the Temples.
As to the 29th of April, that is Adolph Hitler's birthday, oh and the fact that he got BOTH means that he is part of a very radical right wing group here in the county. Yes the Nazis went there, with Ishtar.

33. It also has gemanic origins |
|
that is the problem with many of our traditions and religions, the origins of them are far in the past, going back to at times several places in history. In some way the Catholic Church was an expert in appropriating local legends and customs. May Pole, Father Christmas, hell even the day of the dead in Mexico.
I was just way too particular on what part of the heritage I chose to refer to.

Edited on Sun Apr-04-10 04:41 PM by Flubadubya
If this is a reference to Hitler, actually, his birthday was April 20. I know, it was also my mother's.
If you're referring to someone else, please forgive me, I didn't get it.
ADDENDUM: Well, I see you already addressed this (probably as I was typing the above). At any rate, he was born April 20, and died April 30.

I also understand the Columbine massacre was perpetrated on April 20 in acknowledgment of Hitler's birthday.
I'll never forget, I had just stopped to get my Mom flowers and gifts when I heard the news. What a bummer for a birthday celebration!

and she was a teen/young adult in the early 40s when Hitler was at his worst.
Now my Mom could be a real "hell raiser" herself and they say my grandfather had a rather drole sense of humor.

I remember seeing those numbers on forearms all over Boston in the 60s and 70s, not so much in the 80s. They're on people who are very old and leaving us quickly.
Thank you for standing up to scum. I'm glad you were thanked so beautifully on the spot.
