About how a company "owns" the breast cancer gene, any testing for the gene, any mutations of the gene, and any treatments based on the gene.

1. How can anyone legally patent my genes just because they sequenced the gene in someone else? |
|
They should only be able to patent the gene from the person they studied, who cares if its identical in everyone else - a patent is for a thing or an idea - not the genes or gene of all of civilization

4. They took this to court. AND |
|
the judge has ruled that genes CAN NOT BE PATENTED...That a company has no right to own genes that would relate to others. So they thought they would make a fortune and got fooled. I thought you all would have known it was just this last week.

these companies have the cure to many diseases but they're not sharing them with the world. I am sure they make more money with people developing these diseases and having to buy the drugs to treat it or the symptoms.
::sigh::
I can't believe they were allowed to patent genes.
