Would most people rather reply to DU posts on sex or politics?

That's an odd question for a general discussion thread on DU.

In my opinion, it depends on the mood of the moment. But given human nature ...

I put up a post today that had many replies, both positive and negative. It was about what we were doing in Afghanistan. Although I didn't bring up the subject, many of the replies were about the rape of women and girls.

No accusations are being made here. But I can only wonder about the fantasies of others and why this became a subject on that thread.

We are all sexual creatures whether we like it or not. But by trying to turn it into a rape thread makes me question the motives of those who brought up the subject.

Any opinions?
