It's working pretty well for Sarah Palin.
Instead of being VP for a country with a collapsed economy, riots in the streets and starvation, she's traveling around the country telling idiots who want peoples' testicles in their mouths how unfortunate they are and pulling in $100,000 a pop.
Not being elected President is the best thing that could have happened to John McCain and she's making the best of it too.

1. I don't think she wants to be President |

This is a much better job - for her anyway.

4. Yeah. Being president would mean that she'd have real responsibilities. |

2. Palin will never hold public office again |

She's Krytonite. The tea naggers might like her, but that's a very small portion of the republican party. McCain? Gimme a break. The guy is too old and too stupid. Palin's novelty will wear off when she no longer draws enough support to warrant an appearance.

3. Palin thrives on mean girl insults and repub/libertarian platitudes |
|
she has no original thought or ideas on how to solve the problems we have nor does she even really care. I would consider her a B List celebrity as she has no actual talent-- more or less a reality show contestant level.
The fact she is paid so much to speak so badly is illustrative of the idiocy and lack of perspective and self delusion of the right.

McCain was far more qualified than Bush. Under his Presidency, I don't think we would have had the 911 attack or the Iraq war. Saddam Hussein, whatever his problems were, was already contained. Since the Glass-Steagal laws were changed in 1999, we would have still had the financial meltdown but it would have been less severe and probably would have taken a few more years to develop. All that of course is pure guesswork on my part.
