6. He may be right, but for the wrong reasons.
I think the RNC deliberately picked the most incompetent black person they could find.

That way, when he fails, they can blame it on his being black.

11. But I thought the reason they picke Steele was to prove repubs are not scumbag bigoted racist
Everyone knows it, its all politics and I believe chairman Steele knows that as well. The repub were already circling the drain so what harm could a black chairman do. As soon as he got the job, they started limiting his powers. hes nothing more then a repug figure head, a bad one at that. Im loving it he will be fired soon.

12. Yes. And they picked the one most likely to fail.
Now, they won't have to hire another black person for another generation or so (presuming the party still exists).

16. The freepers are already nominating Ken Blackwell....
To: Daveinyork

Replace him with Ken Blackwell. Problem solved.

Prediction: After being fired Steele will be on cnn or msnbc as a republican who has seen the light and is now a democrat.

Quick fix: Steele out, Blackwell in! Takes care of the race card!

Replacing Steele with Blackwell will be judged to be cynically exploiting blacks. The media will be all over it and will be deemed to be racist. “Those honky racists think the brothers will fall for this. Trading one Uncle Tom for another.”

3. He's doing a great job in wasting campaign donations, discouraging
further donations, and putting rich guys money back into the economy.

4. it IS racism, but it's the kind that Steele -- perhaps unwittingly -- is a part of....

Because, you see, the RNC NEEDS A BLACK PERSON to spew all the insults and crap to the black President. The RNC is as racist as can be!

The idea that a party that tries to keep power with gay bashing takes donors
to a lesbian bondage club is more than a little irony rich.

7. A Gift That Keeps Giving...
There are times I honestly wonder if this dude is doing some of this stuff deliberately to get a reaction. He knows he's their token and instead of being their Obama, he's turned into Steppin Fetchit. They picked him to try to convince us the GOOP isn't as racist as we know they are and in turn have shown their true colors (or lack of them) in how they've tried to deal with him. It's made for good political theater and I'd sure hate to see it end.

13. Just Another Example Of How Deeply Republicans Think
When the Republicans saw an opportunity to ciphon off disgruntled Hillary voters, they thought, "Derrrrrr, well, they only like her because she has a vagina. Derrrrrrrr, so we'll just give them someone ELSE with a vagina, and they'll flock over to OUR side!!! Derrrrrrr." Hence, Sarah Failin.

And then again, they saw an immensely popular black President, and they thought, "Derrrrrrrr. They like THAT black man, so all we have to do is give them ANOTHER black guy and then they'll like US too!!! Derrrrrr."

If a study was released that said that Collies were the most popular breed of dog in America, the Republicans would probably nominate frickin' Lassie as their nominee in 2012. Which wouldn't be all THAT bad of a move, considering Lassie is probably smarter than Bush, McCain, and Sarah Failin combined.
