Stephanie Miller's ratings jumped on Tuesday. We'll see Wed's #'s tomorrow.
I think MSNBC didn't extend her to the entire week because they want to pimp the Republican debate Thursday night.

Tuesday:

Morning programs P2+ (25-54)
FOX & Friends – 871,000 viewers (377,000)
American Morning – 360,000 viewers (149,000)
MSNBC Live- 221,000 viewers (108,000)
Robin & Co. – 217,000 viewers (108,000)

Monday:

Morning programs P2+ (25-54)
FOX & Friends – 898,000 viewers (383,000)
American Morning – 365,000 viewers (163,000)
MSNBC Live- 125,000 viewers (a scratch with 39,000)
Robin & Co. – 192,000 viewers (114,000)

1. Well I'm in that #, she got me away from my C-SPAN addiction
in the AM.

Guess I'm going back to C-SPAN until she comes back.

2. Who are these 800,000 some
viewers watching Fox and Friends? Is that the base? I seen some of it (my Mom (sheesh) watches it and has it on when I drop my daughter off in the morning) and it really sucks eggs, besides being just a RW tool, it SUCKS.

I missed some of Keith tonight...has he mentioned anything about Stephanie rubbing the back of his chair? Or anything about her? She's majorly giving him some promo time, I'm wandering if he'll do the same.

8. There is a break room in my office
Where Fox is turned on all the time. I get in early and change it to one of the local news stations for their morning show but it is almost always back on Fox the next morning. It stays on all night apparently because there is no one in the breakroom at 7 when I arrive.

11. Could they be the ones trapped watching Faux Noise in hotel breakfast lounges,
gyms, restaurants, etc? :)

I always ask if someone can change the channel if it's just me watching. What surprises me is how many people in those places really do watch Fox and Friends. That's scary!

15. I read where some of the older folks watched FOX because
the crawl went slower and was easy to read, as it was a little larger than on CNN or some of the other programs.

FOX & Friends is absolutely pathetic, Doocey and wtf-is-his-name are beyond stupid, and they toss a femme fatale in there just to keep the testosterone level up.

The few times I've seen F&F has been when I go to 101 on DirectTV for the melange of news shows. For some reason, it is the first one that pops up, and I have to move the cursor over when it finally comes up. This leaves me w/about 5 seconds of F&F, which is 4.5 seconds too long...:scared:

More's the pity. It'd be nice if he'd toss her a nice professional plug...but so far, nothing.

27. I agree about Fox & Friends.
That is one of the lamest shows ever. The only times I even glance at it are when every other news channel is showing commercials and C-SPAN has roll calls. Even then, I never make it through even a minute before gagging and deciding I'd rather watch commercials or a roll call.

The 800,000 who watch that drivel (presumably many of them 28%-dead-enders) give you some idea of the low intellectual level of the American electorate. Sad.

And yes, I too was hoping KO would mention SM, but I didn't hear it.

3. I don't think the Fox ratings are real. Seriously.
They include the grocery story food court and the convenience store and the gas station...no way in hell that many people tune into that shit deliberately. I simply refuse to believe it. Fox is for some reason the de facto station in any retail establishment, but there is not a chance in hell that that many people are actually tuned in of their own volition. Nope. No way.

5. No, the numbers do not count every single place that has a show on
They only count those that Nielsen is in contact with, much like how polls only count 1000 Americans and is said to speak for the entire Country.

9. I'm not sure even that is true anymore. Nielsen ratings are obsolete.
I've been a Nielsen "family" and an Arbitron "family" several times in the past. But why is there even a need anymore? Fox is only available via cable, and every cable company can tell them how many people are tuned in at any given moment. Pencil-n-paper viewing diaries are a total anachronism in the digital age. I'd be willing to bet you're wrong on this one. I think it these numbers are more likely coming from cable company reporting. I might well be wrong, but I just don't see why Nielsen would still be sending out diaries with quarters and dollar bills attached to them. It makes no sense when all the info is available -- much more accurately -- directly from Cox or Charter, etc.

13. I'm sorry, teaching WHAT?
Edited on Wed May-02-07 09:01 PM by Atman
Filling in a diary? Seriously...not being snarky, I'm just curious. Mailing diaries and paying people with dollar bills and quarters is ridiculously expensive, especially when the technology is readily available to get the same information -- and probably more accurately -- directly from the computerized viewing data from the cable company. Nielsen diaries require (very, very few "families" have the set-top boxes) recording every channel change on every television in the home, in fifteen minute increments. I just don't believe they're really relying on this anymore. It makes no sense. All the data is right there at Cox and Charter, and requires no human interaction. One of the biggest faults of the diaries is that people often wrote down "PBS" when they were in fact watching "Beavis and Butthead." With cable, they cannot do that anymore...when you change the channel, the cable company's computers know immediately. Why would they rely on paper diaries which then have to be mailed back and tabulated?

So, seriously...expand upon this for us. What course are you talking about, and what, exactly, are they "teaching?"

6. Fox and Friends is like a satire of a morning show. Does anyone remember the skit
on SNL that Will Farrell and Cheri O'teri used to do, it was based on Regis and Kelly lee? but thats exactly what the clownish Fox shows reminds me of.

7. I caught Mama, Jim and Chris this morning and they were
great! My boys were into seeing Mama and the talented Jim and Chris who accompany her. We were all piled up in my bed this morning before they had to go to school! It was great!!!

The only reason that I tuned into MSNBC besides Keith.

12. Absolutely. I hope MSNBC picks it up. I will watch MSNBC in the morning and
turn to it throughout the day. At present, I only watch KO and watch CNN if I just want to see what's happening. I'll drop any CNN watching that I do for MSNBc if they pick up Stephanie and the two mooks.

They sounded good. They looked good. I was the show on a whole new playing field by being able to SEE them. (Mama said she was working on getting a Stephcam and did so in spades!)

It'd be interesting to compared Stephanie's numbers with that of that bald-headed fart from Philly. Also, let's see how those numbers look next week.

29. I was glad they put on Tucker because that's one guy I'm not tempted in the least
to tune into. He just has that "air of entitlement" look on his face everytime a huge lie comes rolling out of his mouth. Very easy for me to avoid that channel like the plague while he is on.
