In which the Author predicts the appearance of an as-yet-unknown variant of right-wing idiocy. |

OK, stay with me. You're seeing favorable economic numbers popping up here and there, right? In economic activity, unemployment etc. Businesses seem to be starting to look better. The focus here is on the businesses themselves. The private companies, big and small, which, very naturally, want to make money and will do whatever is necessary to regain their health. Invest. Hire. Advertise. Discount. Reorganize. Research. Perform the Rain Dance. Anything.
The twist will be: teabaggerdom will say such businesses are unpatriotic, because a better economy favors the administration's electoral prospects. Hence, they're helping soshulism! If they were patriotic, they'd deliberately let themselves go under, fire everybody, raise prices, close factories, etc etc etc so the economy crashes and burns and the Secret Muslin can be defeated.
You read it here first.

but the main thesis does not seem plausible to me. I think they will keep hammering at their big three - the deficit, the unemployment and the fact that Obama promised to keep unemployment below 8.5%. So even if unemployment drops to 9% before November they will be claiming that things are still bad. My prediction, which is mostly based on hope, is that their messages will not sell as people see us starting to move in the right direction.

2. I just suspect some high-profile RWer will say that to the press at some point. |

Not likely to be a "OK, people, lets fire up the faxes so every one of our troops will start saying this" thing.
