Please make sure to thank your congress-critters re: Health Care Reform
For those with representatives and senators who did it RIGHT, make sure you tell them so! Here's what was sent to me today (although it's not very often I can do this in FL :():

"Dear Mrs. Dappleganger:

Thank you for your kind words and support of my vote to pass the Health Care and Education Reconciliation and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Acts. As you know, President Obama signed both these pieces of legislation into law in March.

Under this new law, insurance companies will not be able to discriminate against folks with pre-existing conditions. Those who can't afford insurance will receive tax credits and subsidies to put toward the cost of purchasing a plan. Small businesses with less than 50 employees will not be required to do anything different, but they will have the opportunity to take advantage of tax credits if they choose to offer insurance. The government will invest in training more primary care doctors, paying them better, and making sure they have the opportunity to practice in the parts of the country that need them the most. Seniors in the Medicare Part D doughnut hole--the gap where they are forced to pay 100% of their prescription costs--will receive a rebate this year to help cover those costs, and the doughnut hole will be closed entirely by 2020.

For a complete summary of the law in plain English, and tools to help you figure out how it will affect you personally, please visit the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation's website at http://healthreform.kff.org/.

I truly appreciate your letter. Your encouragement helps me serve you better in the Senate.

Sincerely,
Senator Bill Nelson"

3. I'll thank them when we have the public option we deserve (and Obama campaigned for in 2008)
That's at the very least. A workable single-payer system would be just dandy, too.

4. I'm meeting mine Wednesday...My SIL died 18 months ago from cancer..

sadly she doesn't have the time to hold out for anything...she wasn't even 36yrs yet...she left behind a 9yr niece that leaves me heartbreaking messages I don't even know how to answer sometimes..I for one will take what passes for little victories as I can..explaining to a kid why their mommie isn't coming back is no fun...
