Bush foundation touts merit pay in new TV ad
"The Foundation for Florida’s Future — the one founded by former Gov. Jeb Bush –just announced that it has a new television commercial urging passage of the proposed merit-pay plans for teachers.

The ad says that the proposed legislation will give teachers who work with some of Florida’s neediest students higher pay. It speaks to how advocates of a new pay and evaluation system for teachers are very eager to get it passed.

On the other side of this debate, the Florida Education Association hit the airwaves a few weeks ago to fight against these bills.

Here’s the foundation’s ad:"

2. If I was a teacher under this bill, then I would teach to the test
and structure the whole curriculum around that one test. After all, this is my pocketbook we are talking about here.

ass from a hole in the ground but can be extremely vindictive towards teachers, can take teachers' licenses away if they don't "measure up," according to this piece of shit legislation.

Think of it: An asshole principal can destroy a teacher's career in ALL FIFTY STATES if he or she can revoke a teacher's license so the teacher can be lumped in with child molesters and other criminals. ALL licensing boards ASK if you've ever had your license suspended or revoked. Chances are you won't even get a LICENSE if it's ever been revoked in another state.

And then the five-year "probationary" period is a crock of shit because once a teacher gets past the probationary period, he or she is on a one-year contract, which is A DISTINCTION WITHOUT A DIFFERENCE. You're still "at-will."

I mean it: In this day and age, ANY student who goes into this cesspool called teaching should have his or her head examined.
