Right-wing Obsession With Barack Obama
For those that might listen to talk radio while driving to and from work or for other reasons, they cannot help but notice that every right-wing host starts and ends their show with a tirade of hatred and disrespect for President Barack Obama. Granted, liberal talk-show hosts never cared for George W Bush but soemtimes they would talk about Dick Cheney or Rumsfeld or Rove or some other topic. However, with the right-wing talk show hosts, they have only one subject to discuss: Barack Obama.

It is 24-7. They think he is a socialist. He is destroying our Constitution. He is arrogant. He is stupid and ignorant. He is trying to trick them. All of his ideas and policies are wrong. Nothing he says or does can be trusted. He must be defeated by any and all means. He is a threat to our nation's survival. Etc. etc.

This obsession can lead to no good end. The people that listen to this crap endlessly are brainwashed. But, you can bet if they talk about the mine explosion today, they will find some way to blame it on Barack Obama...

7. true, but we don't have a multi-million viewer TV network and associated radio shows
I get your point, but I do have to say that right wing hate seems a bit more in the mainstream media than left wing.

8. Wait a minute....
All the shit that Dumbya pulled... the invasions, the wiretapping, the torture, the economy.... ad nauseum.... And the rightwingnuts are after Obama? ... who is perhaps the least progressive of the progressive wing of the D party.

Dumbya deserved it! He earned it the good old-fashioned way.... he "fucked-up" his way into it. I hated him, but I never called him a War Criminal until he earned that title. I never called him a moron until his handling of the economy nearly killed us. I never called him Fascist (and I know what the word means) until he increased spying on Americans to unprecedented levels.

You see where I'm going.

The rightwingnuts went after Obama from day one... actually, before day one.... during the campagn.

I personally feel their hatred of Obama comes from the fact that he's black. Uppity black. Educated black. Good public-speaking black.

4. I listen to keep tabs on them
but what bothers me most, is refusal to call him PRESIDENT Obama. It's always "Obama" or worse, "PEEBO". It took me a while to figure out who the heck this "Peebo" was, them realized it meant "President Barack Obama" in wing-nut speak. They are physically unable to say the words "President Barack Obama".

6. There's an R&B singer by the name of Peabo Bryson.
Perhaps this is their "Buckwheat" term for him?

5. Well to go from having the village idiot in the White House
Edited on Tue Apr-06-10 09:30 AM by Wapsie B
whose pseudo-folksy behavior seemed to resonate with the good old boys to having a President whose intellectual abilities make them feel dumb is quite unsettling to the rabble in the gop. W's style made them feel smart. He reinforced their beliefs in themselves, keeping them in their comfort zones. Obama, besides being a black man challenges their belief systems, something those in the conservative crowd hate with a passion. They don't want to be made to think.
