A Supreme Court nibblette to consider in light of Justice Stevens pending retirement
In a 7-2 Decision, Justice Stevens writes an opinion taking an expanded view of the Federal Court's jurisdiction to apply the False Claims Act to state and local government sources. Here is Justice Stevens opinion in Graham County Soil and Water Conservation District v. U. S. and Karen Wilson:

Justice Sotomayor filed the DISSENTING Opinion in favor of restricting and limiting the Federal jurisdiction to federal endices. Here is her opinion:

When considering potential nominees to the Court to replace Justice Stevens, we ought to keep in mind where Justice Sotomayor fits into the balance of things.
