Steele on himself to Stephanopoulous:

"I’m not a Washington insider. ... My view on politics is much more grass-roots-oriented. It’s not old boy network oriented and so I tend to come at it a little bit stronger, a little more streetwise if you will. That rubs some feathers the wrong way."

6. He strikes me as a geeky kid who got through school
by being a bully's cheering section. Otherwise, he'd have spent the whole time being shoved into his locker and I doubt he'd be a Republican today.

I've always found it hilarious that the most confident people in the world are generally those with the least to back that confidence up.

7. Oh, please - He was in the GLEE CLUB in high school -real "Street"...
spent years studying to become a catholic priest. Read the Wiki article on him here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Steele

He was born on an Air Force base, had a conservative mom, did well in catholic school, studied for the priesthood, became a lawyer instead. He stated that the area of DC his family lived in "insulated him" from the harsh street life...Having it both ways, Mike?

And he WAS in the Glee Club....

18. One benefit from the RNC sex club scandal...
It appears the GOP has won over at least one prospective Senate candidate with the news the RNC spent nearly $2000 at a bondage themed club:
