Here's mine:

A view of Lucca, Italy. You can ride a bike or just walk on the tops of the walls of this Medieval city in Northern Tuscany. It's enchanting!

2. It's nice. I went to a lovely ristorante there for a memorable meal.
I didn't know that it was Puccini's birthplace!

Never saw a walled city before. Quite interesting. Nothing like here.

I hope you have gone there or plan to go. You will absolutely love it...no cars allowed (no room for them anyway) in the old section. Bikes and people walking and little shops...lovely way of life...

9. I love it that Prague was spared from the Germans predation!
Such a lovely city. I love that they did not visit their violence on these people.
I want to go there and hope to soon. What a wonderful place to be in!

10. Another one for Stockholm! Gotta be careful about those Socialist hippies in Sweden!
Edited on Tue Apr-06-10 07:06 PM by 4lbs

Just look! Those damn Socialist hippies are busy plotting the overthrow of America.

Look at how they just.... sit there.... reading their books and enjoying fresh air and sunshine near a fountain and a blue river.

It's obvious to anyone that the Socialist Swedish government is oppressing these people!

It will spell doom to the American way of life I tells ya!

:+

EDIT: Look at how healthy all those Swedes look too! That damn Socialist healthcare system is the cause of that!

13. Those Dutch! Why can't they fix their systems???
I was in Amsterdam in the 50s as a kid (my mother took me there). I was pretty amazed. I remember the museum with "The Night Watch" by Rembrandt...I never forgot it...

I'd like to post Oslo, even though I've never been there . . .
. . . and the likelihood of me going is slim to none (overseas travel is just way too expensive).

17. I was told by someone who travelled to all of the Scandinavian capitals
that Oslo was her favorite. I also spoke with a young American woman last summer who was married to a Norwegian and lived there and she recounted her experience with a pregnancy, birth and post natal care in Norway's system of socialized medicine. There women usually stay 4 nights in the hospital getting the care they need and helping to get the breast feeding regularized. As a first time mom, she got 5 nights just to make sure her nursing was going well. Then she had house visits of a midwife/nurse to check on the baby and her...
