Military Can't Find Iraq Killing Video
Source: San Diego Union Tribune/AP

WASHINGTON — The U.S. military says it can't find its copy of a video that shows two Reuters news agency employees being killed by Army helicopters.

A leaked version circulated the Internet on Monday and renewed questions about the attack.

Capt. Jack Henzlik, a spokesman for U.S. Central Command, says forces in Iraq have not been able to locate the video within its files and are attempting to retrieve it.

3. My guess is its the first step
on the way to claiming that the one shown to the public was doctored, or faked, or anything else they think they might be able to use to pull the wool over people's eyes.

7. And they say they thoroughly investigated it - twice, even.

So...did they destroy the primary evidence after the first whitewash, or after the second?

Doesn't sound like they're entirely cool with what happened back there- our resident war apologists notwithstanding.
I mean, if you're so sure none of your boys did anything wrong, why purge the files of the investigation(s)?

9. Good news!
It's not lost - there's a bunch of links to it all over the internets!

How awesome for them that it's not lost forever. I bet they're excited about that.

15. Fishier and fishier
And remember, this is just one incident that we know about. I'm not at all optimistic that the military will be especially forthcoming with information on any other incidents. Once they're run to ground, cornered and trapped like rats with no possibility of escape, they will finally, grudgingly admit that, yes, perhaps not everything they've done is above reproach under internationally recognized rules of war. But there will always be an excuse for why any particular situation isn't actionable as a war crime, and their gibbering puppets will be there to back them up 100%.

18. Doh! I can't help but wonder if the stories are related
You know, "WikiLeaks" "suddenly" has this video of "alleged" "misconduct"

and the military can't find it's copy!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the "WikiLeaks" video *is* the missing military video!

I know, I'm a gambler.

You can find the screenshots used in the military investigations in the video released by Wikileaks.
