Whoa, now that all of the minutia is digested, can we back the fuck up? |
|
What the fuck are US soldiers doing, in 2007, patrolling Baghdad neighborhoods with Apache helicopters and Bradley vehicles.
NO, REALLY, I want to know.
How long ago was that war declared officially over? How many years?
How many elections did they have, how many times have we handed over the government, the police, their military, I mean, WTF???
WTF were we STILL doing there in 2007???
And WTF are we still doing there NOW????
Goddammit!

Nothing says "we care" like unaccountable murder and cover-up.

If you look LONG and HARD enough at the video, its clear beyond day that one of the men on the ground flipped the camera the bird, another one mooned the chopper and a third looked like Keanu Reeves. It wasn't murder then, but justified extermination. This is all laid out earlier: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=8100321&mesg_id=8100321

Being flipped the bird is all the justification you need to exterminate the flipper, kill his family, and burn down his house.
What was I thinking?!?

You really had me going there, and I just replaced my mouse when Omega M got me the night before last, now I need another keyboard! I live in 25 miles outside of the middle of nowhere and I can't be driving into the city every day or two to get these peripherals. Semi-serious question; When did it become acceptable for a Mod to come into the forum he/she moderates and post flame-bait? :kick: & R

Well we got them, so why are we still there? Maybe it was the Iraqi oil we went to get?

We're there for the oil. The oil is still there and it's ours. Every other lie about why we went to war with Iraq are well, lies.

12. It's sort of like one of those "come to Jesus" moments isn't it? |
|
This event might just have enough power to finally help the scales fall from many eyes.
It may take a few more days, but it has that much punch, imho. OTOH, I really spent time with the minutia.
Perhaps this was yet another reason they wanted to conceal it?

20. It is an easy way to justify the $600M and 6 years that disappeared down the rat-hole. |
|
But it's all just fine, the General that failed to train the police, failed to hold the gains won in the first months, and failed to successfully cover-up another infamous murder of one of our soldiers (the name Pat Tillman still ring any bells here?), is now in charge of the wholesale slaughter with the approval of this "Democratic" administration.
Oh yes, although he did fail to train the police for 6 years, he did succeed in losing aver 100,000 weapons that were supposed to be for those police he hasn't trained.
Oops, almost forgot, there's also ~100,000 police uniforms missing out there, so we can't be sure if that cop is a cop.
Yes, this is going just splendidly.

21. Surging, but not doing it the right way |
|
The point of the "surge" was that this kind of stuff (gunships wasting large groups of military-aged men) was supposed to end: boots on the ground would keep an eye on things, conduct civil affairs ops, and after contact call in heavier strikes when necessary. The gunships were still there because there were still large armed groups attacking people; in theory they were supposed to be hanging back waiting for the infantry (or, better yet, Iraqi security) to figure out what the hell was going on.

Let's face facts:
There was no good reason for the US to invade Iraq in 2003.
There was no good reason for US soldiers to shoot up Iraqi civilians in 2007.
There is no good reason for US troops to still be in Iraq in 2010.
Cui bono?
Edit: What year is it again?
