Houston News Photographer in trouble for attaching Mexican flag |
|
to his camera while covering an immigration march. Crowd taunts him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEqV5zaVCbYMore info: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/staticarticles/article55481.htmlMy only feelings of regret over this "incident" is that moran Lou Dobbs will be whining about this for the next six months. Sorry, not a fan of Mr. Dobbs.

3. You know, I didn't know it was against the law to fly another country's flag. The cameraman is |
|
a legal American citizen and should have the right to display whatever flag he wants. How many Irish flags have you seen on St. Patrick's Day? There's a lot of Swedish flags flying in Minnesota. And how about that CSA flag on the pickup trucks and capitol buildings in the South?

4. I don't get it either. You'd think there were more important |
|
things to get worked up about.
As a photojournalist, he really should try to remain neutral, but who cares really.

From WorldNutDaily link above:
KPRC News Director Skip Valet told WND the cameraman's flying of the Mexican flag broke station rules.
"It violates our policy, because we're always objective observers of these situations," Valet told WND. "We don't take sides in news stories; we cover them. That policy was clearly violated."
The cameraman has been disciplined, Valet said, but he could not disclose details, because it's a personnel matter.
I concur completely. Journalists cannot do things like this as it calls into question their objectivity, that of the media outlet they represent and, indeed, that of the media as a whole.

8. This is exactly correct and the way it should be. |

Something that is amazing though, WorldNutDaily gets one right.

9. I'm aware of what the news director said. I'd have more of a |
|
problem with it if the reporter, who was the person who went on TV, was carrying around the flag.
But it was a Mexican photographer who was no doubt only proud of his heritage.
I still say who cares.

5. I have a Polish flag baseball cap that I wear |
|
but I'm white and Poland is in Europe so it's OK with these wingnuts even though it's the same wingnuts that treated the Polish like shit years ago when they could get away with it.
