1. CNN is based in Atlanta. When the sea levels rise, they'll be among the first to drown.
I say, let Beck rant, and let CNN drown.

4. umm... our elevation is around a thousand feet or so
There are far more efficient ways to choke off Beck and his CNN enablers.

9. Then let's warm the globe until massive hurricanes destroy CNN.
Unless, of course, they move their headquarters to Dubai.

10. "When the sea levels rise, (Atlanta will) be among the first to drown."
How do you figure that?
Maybe that's true in Bizarro World...

13. It has the feel of truthiness to it.
I don't trust "facts" that come from "books" because books have no heart.

I get my facts from my gut.

And my gut says, "When the sea levels rise, Atlanta will be among the first to drown."

Now, please excuse me while I go edit the Wikipedia entry on Atlanta to put their elevation at... oh, let's say 10 feet BELOW sea level.

Yeah, that should do it.

12. FWIW, I think Atlanta is about 2000 ft. above sea level
Edited on Thu May-03-07 07:35 AM by Buns_of_Fire
That's not to say that I wouldn't approve of stationing Beck where he could enjoy the balmy ocean breezes in a nice sea-level atoll in the south Pacific, of course.

On edit: Okay, I broke down and looked it up. The elevation is somewhere between 940 to 1050 feet ASL, depending on what part of the city you're standing in. http://www.usacitiesonline.com/gacountyatlanta.htm

...ice caps. He compared Gore's climate change to the fear Hitler spread to jews. Well given Jews living in Israel are most likely to be directly effected by climate change with the lebanon war being about water resources(not saying th conflict was just but that was the hidden agenda), Glen Bexk just makes himself look a clown to my mind.

8. I watched about 10 minutes of that
Beck was on our local idiot radio hosts show (he has filled in for Beck) yesterday afternoon to promote this. Beck talked about this great MIT guy they had who was credentialed for days but was just too boring for TV. Uh-huh sounds like the guy who woulda coulda scored with the head cheerleader.

As usual he reverted to the old anti-evolution tactic of "if they can't prove their point 125% then it must be wrong which means we are right" nonsense.

11. When CNN first started
they were a great news source. Getting feeds from places all over the world, going into depth on stories, etc. Now I consider them marginally better than Faux. They have talking heads who were obviously not picked for their intellect, specialize in fluff stories about fashion and who's dating whom, and idiots like beck and grace giving their 1/2 cents worth and thinking they are somebody.

19. I turned off my TV a long time ago
and find myself amused by these selective calls to turn off some particular channel because of some particular incident.
The whole beast is corrupt and designed to sell brainwash sell brainwash sell.
I haven't owned a TV for a decade and hardly ever watch the stuff.
What's the point? It just raises my blood pressure.

Besides which, do you think the corporate masters of such stuff give a damn whether a few people turn off their tvs or not?
I seriously doubt it.

27. Do they take turns? Is it CNN's turn to do the heavy rightwing lifting?
Fox is old news. MSNBC had the Weiner, now they have KO. Same ownership. This "global warming is bunk" stuff is tame for Beck. Have you heard him talk about the Left Behind thingie? He definitely wants war in the middle east, which is why he has his own show. CNN loves war. Of course, GE and NBC raked in big bucks, too, for the war they helped start.

28. I guess it is (in a good way)
In the sense that it opened a lot of people's eyes to something they hadn't thought of before the movie, I look at propaganda as sort of marketing a point of view, I think the misinformation type (that Beck does) doesn't define all kinds of propaganda, I might be wrong. Isn't it just using mass marketing to push a point of view? Then we need MORE of it for the truth, since the liars have these huge media platforms!

Beck is the worst kind of propagandist -- a liar and cynical misinformer who knows damn well he's full of shit.

29. Cut Your Cable
Quit it, get rid of it. Other than local sports teams, in my case there was no other reason to keep it. I quit in December. Just get rid of the cable.

You can get all the Olbermann, Daily Show and Colbert clips online now, even Cspan is online. I'm telling you there's nothing remotely even close that justifies spending $50 bucks a month on utter nonsense.

Quit your cable today, of course Beck is a nazi but why are you giving your cable company $$$ to listen to this despicable human being.
