Palin, Bachman, Coulter, Beck---Geeks all (old definition)
Today, it has become sort of cool to be a "geek" as the term is currently used. The current meaning would be someone who is unusually knowledgeable or competent in some technical field, i.e., a "computer geek".

But, long before geeks were cool, they were---freaks!

Geeks used to be the opening act for carnivals and their purpose was to draw attention and a crowd. How did they accomplish this?

Geeks chased down and caught live chickens, bit off their heads and swallowed them!

Revolting? "You betcha!"

Disgusting? Absolutely!

Worthwhile? A total waste of time and money! BUT-----people WERE attracted and even paid good money to watch the totally stupid, repugnant and freakishly compelling sight of someone gulping down bloody chicken heads while the discarded body flopped around spurting warm red blood!

Have I grossed you out? I hope so.

The wingnuts mentioned above and others too numerous to mention have stumbled upon the knowledge that disgusting and outrageous words and behavior still attract a crowd and still sell tickets to some people. And, their biggest promoters are the MSM "journalists" who fall all over themselves to record every hate-filled ignorant rant; every threat; every obvious lie; every flop of the bloody bird.

Jesus H. Christ, people! Aren't we better than this?
