Bush - Seeking an Acceptable Level of Violence in Iraq
In remarks made Wednesday to the Associated General Contractors of America, President Bush defined his view of the success in Iraq that he hopes to accomplish.

The president then compared Iraq to the United States, saying that there were parts of the US with "a certain level of violence," but that "people feel comfortable about living their daily lives" in those areas. That level of violence, said Bush, is what the US is aiming to achieve in Iraq.

At a White House Press Briefing later in the day Suzanne Malveaux of CNN asked Press Secretary Tony Snow to clarify what would constitute an "acceptable level of violence."

"That's a very good question," replied Snow. "I don't have an answer."

Earlier in the press conference Snow also compared Iraq to the US, saying "Washington for many years was the murder capital of the United States of America. I believe we are still able to do our jobs. Now, really what he's talking about -- he's talking about that."

1. I'd consider this a conundrum for conservatives
Does bush think that a reduction in the deaths of non-white, non-christian civilians in Iraq is going to make his base happy?

I would think that an "acceptable level of violence" in Iraq to a conservative would mean massive casualties on a daily basis. After all they value life.

2. Only Commander Guy himself has all the answers.
Snow The Lesser must resort to the fallback "I don't have an answer."

3. No - he's attempting to shape the view that what is happening in Iraq
is normal and just part of what happens in a democracy by relating it to America

See? If what is happening in Iraq can be compared to America, then that's "progress"...it's just "birthing pains"(Rice) - it's just part of democracy...it's "freedom can be messy" (Rumsfeld said that)

Yeah - yeah...it's not the same at all...but that doesn't change the framing Bush is going for

5. Complete insanity & total failure for the GOP-tards
Which province, city or state in this country would accept having buses or malls or schools blown up about once per month? This would be a significant decrease in the violence experienced in Baghdad. Which GOP Congressman finds this acceptable?

Sunnis & Shias won't travel to each other's "ghettos" even to do business

Which GOP Congressman finds this acceptable for his own constituency?

Bush failed before 9/11. He failed by invading Iraq. He's failed with the entire war in Iraq. He's failed trying to establish democrcacy in Iraq. He's failed our soldiers & our vets. He's failed the Iraqi people.

Broadcast the names of all the GOP Congressmen & women who find this acceptable - WEEKLY.
