A lot has been made of the fact that many members of the Tea Party "movement" generally vote Republican anyways. However, what I wonder is what is the correlation between members of the Tea Party and those who watch Fox News? Jon Stewart has run innumerable segments about how members of the Tea Party simply recite Fox News/Frank Lutz talking points such as Health Care Reform "being rammed down our throat." Thus, is it more appropriate to view the Tea Party "movement" as merely being an extension of Fox News?
In other words, Fox News' coverage of Tea Party activities is not merely biased. Rather, Fox News really is the founder and organizer of the Tea Party movement. The tail is wagging the dog. Afterall, would there be a Tea Party if Rick Santelli did not make a "spontaneous" outburst on CNBC about a Tea Party, then Fox News co-opting this phraseology with a network wide promotion of the Tea Party "movement" with various Fox News personalities reporting on (hosting) rallies with Fox News producers being caught cheerleading outside of camera shot?
Heck, you have Mormon Glenn Beck being so bold as to tell Christians how they should worship, and how they should shun churches that preach social justice.
The god is capitalism. The holy son is Rupert Murdoch, and Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, and the rest of the Fox News cast are the disciples in this godless religion that promotes the free market as holy, and social justice as an evil that must be crushed.
