Rep. Jerry Moran (R- KS): Allegations Of C Street Lower Rent Rates Are Attacks On My Faith
Edited on Thu Apr-08-10 04:34 AM by Are_grits_groceries
Rep. Jerry Moran (R- KS) is trying to turn charges that he's getting a break on his rent at C Street into attacks on his Christian faith. Seriously. <...>

e told the Topeka Capitol-Journal that criticism of his cozy arrangement amounted to "a national effort to exclude matters of faith by public servants."
Moran continued: "I don't think that my interest in studying the Bible with other colleagues of mine in Congress ought to be seen as anything but good or at least personal -- whether you think it's good or bad it ought to be a decision I make as a member of Congress, as a human being."

No. They are attacks on your hypocritical ass for paying way below market rent. It is true if you worship greed which is possible. However, I don't think that has been recognized as a true religion by the IRS. YET.

3. a "government worker" is not even allowed to accept a lunch worth more
than, in effect, a McDonald's value menu meal, or else it's an appearance of impropriety.

Any significant break given on rent is an "influence" tool ... and, if it were a "lowly" government worker, that worker would have been reprimanded, if not released ...

10. I offered to take someone to lunch
who is also a local pol... that this person is a local pol had nothing to do with the offer b/c this person had been kind enough to give me a lot of information about things totally unrelated to politics, religion, blahblah.

he told me he couldn't accept my offer of lunch because it might appear unethical.

these assholes, on the other hand, think they can accept religious rent and then try to insert religious bullshit into our govt and it's no problem?

what an asshole.

4. We all want a religion that guarantees low rent in a luxury building.
The god, I believe, is Mammon.

6. That and their healthcare plan, and 99.9% of U.S. would be voting (R).
But (R)s are an exclusive bunch and believe in "Just Us" over "Justice".

It's socialism folks, plain and simple, in this case for people of a certain positive mindset about The CHURCH-STATE who started an illegal war of choice which killed 1,000,000 Iraqis (including probably about 300,000 CHILDREN) who did not NEED to die.
