I have great respect for Godwin's Law, but goddamit these people are following Hitler's example. When they were in power, yes, they seemed to use Orwell's 1984 as a manual. Now, they are out of power. They have changed manuals. Now they are using The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.

Seriously, it's a long and mostly boring book - but the comparisons are too close for comfort.

I'll admit, as much as I believe Hitler was "evil", I am forced to admit that he was a genius. As much as I hate Republicans and their "ideals" (or lack thereof), you have to admire and respect their talents in being able to shift their message and persuade so many gullible people to accept that shift.

We cannot afford to underestimate them. We believe that we will win (eventually) because we the facts and the Truth on our side.

Unfortunately, it seems many people don't want to hear the truth. That is the challenge before us.
