"Survivor" Producer's Wife, Monica Beresford-Redman, Missing in Mexico
SANTA MONICA, Calif. (CBS/KCAL) It's been two days and there is still no sign of Monica Beresford-Redman, wife of award-winning "Survivor" producer Bruce Beresford-Redman.

She was at the Moon Palace Hotel in Cancun, Mexico with her husband and their two children. She left Monday to go shopping but never returned.

Carla Burgos, her sister, said Mexican police have finally started to investigate.

"We're really lost. It's like a really big mystery," Burgos told CBS affiliate KCAL.

Bruce Beresford-Redman spoke to KCAL by phone Wednesday, but couldn't say much because he was hoping to keep the phone lines clear.

Wonder if she's been kidnapped for money which is happening quite often in Mexico.

1. Survivor producer suspect in wife's death
Mexico: Hollywood producer suspect in wife's death

MEXICO CITY – "Survivor" producer Bruce Beresford-Redman is a suspect in his wife's death days after reporting her missing in the resort city of Cancun, a Mexican official said Thursday.

The body of Monica Beresford-Redman was found Thursday in a sewer at the swanky Moon Palace resort where the family was on vacation, according to the official at the office of the attorney general for Quintana Roo state, where Cancun is located.

A witness at the hotel saw the couple arguing Sunday, and Bruce Beresford-Redman has been detained as a suspect, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media about the case.

The cause of death has not been determined.

Beresford-Redman told police Tuesday that his wife left the hotel the previous day and never returned, the official said.

4. Yeah...after reading the article here on DU first I was buying the whole "kidnapped" thing
and then went over to Yahoo and saw this other headline on their main page.

I can think of a million better resolutions to a problem than killing someone. Yes, it really is very sad.
