Mr. Beck. Let me offer you a clue about your life.. |
|
You have repeated, wherever you can, that you are a recovering alcoholic and drug addict. The plain fact of the matter is that you are still a drug addict. You have traded street drugs and alcohol and replaced them with the drugs of greed and self adulation. The destructive personality of the addict requires a total indifference to those suffering around them. You have taken that indifference to a whole new level. Your indifference to the damage you are doing to your listeners (encouraging the less stable to do something that they will regret their whole lives) and your nation is no different than the addict you were when you were younger. You still need that daily fix don't you? The addiction to money really doesn't feel much different does it Glen? When you get what you want you can only think of getting more. Same with fame. Mr. Beck, you are still a drug addict. You are still doing damage to others. The only difference is that you have been able to multiply it by millions. I think you may have been right when you mentioned in your interview that you thought it was in your genes. You haven't done anything with your life to make the rest of us think otherwise.

There are no doubt several other psychological issues with Mr. Beck, but addiction and the self-absorption is the most apparent. He needs to see a really good therapist, imho.
I lived with an addict in my late teens. Her path is classic... Alcoholic, so she stopped drinking. Soon her half a pack of cigarettes became two packs, so she quit smoking, and started eating. When she reached 300 lbs, she saw a doctor and stopped eating excessively, and started spending money. She lost her home, her car, her job... and she still juggles and jumps from one addiction to another. Over the years she's been counseled by many to go into therapy and put an end to the demon addiction once and for all. I haven't seen her in over 15 years... I hope she's ok, and I hope she's gone into therapy.

May I copy it (with your DU name) to share with my friends? This could totally fit with Lumpball, too.

7. His popularity is similar to the drunk that's the hit of the party. |
|
You can't believe that he is doing what he is doing but he is entertaining. To the other drunks at the party he seems normal and he is not off base at all. That, to me, explains his ratings.
