Spitzer co-hosting while Dylan Ratigan is away!
Edited on Thu Apr-08-10 03:02 PM by Subdivisions
Excellent. I already love Dylan's show and anytime Spitzer is there, it's just that much better.

And right out of the gate we see banking CEOs claiming that, though they were paid and were given bonuses in the millions, they had no idea that an economic crash was coming. Funny that, considering I'm just a nobody Joe Sixpack and even I saw it coming, with the help of others like Schiff, et. al.

6. Spitzer is a very smart and insightful man.
It's a shame he let his personal life get so crazy. I've seen him on many shows and he's always informed and engaging.

11. The personal life problem was the final straw to a
series of public messes that he instigated!

IF it had only been a private problem he would like have survived as Governor!

18. Total BS.
Spitzer is gone because of the hookers, period. He made enemies on Wall Street but the public was fine with him to that point.

20. Gee, what a clever argument. You've really opened my eyes.
Seems to me you're applying your own feelings about Spitzer to the general public. Fact is, he'd still be governor today if he hadn't been soliciting prostitutes.

3. Ratigan has his moments but he is no Spitzer
He's profoundly anti-government but he does have good guests.
Spitzer is way better than Ratigan.

4. I still love Eliot Spitzer!
He was 'scandalized' because he had the dirt on what the Banksters were doing to the country & was going to share it.

10. Examples...
for those of us who do not live in NY. I,too, am under the impression that he was targeted and he unfortunately gave them ammunition to go after him...but his personal life is not our business. I think he is extremely intelligent, knowledgeable, and articulate, and watching Ratigan's discussions with him are pleasurable and informative.

16. Well to start ....
we had our own "Trooper-gate" where Spitzer "staffers" had the State Troopers follow the dirt bag state Senator Bruno, finally out of office and indited.

Instead of working with the state senate and assembly he tried to strong arm his legislation through.

and then his executive order to issue driver licenses to illegal aliens didn't help.

He did do a "mea culpa" tour of the state to try and get things back on track but when the prostitution scandal broke, at least for me, it was the last straw.

17. Well, he di have that reputation for going after Wall Street, but the funny thing was...
that as soon as he started sniffing around the governor's mansion, he stopped investigating Wall Street and started begging for Wall Street money.

Once in office, hubris got the best of him and he seemed to believe he was the white knight a lot of people thought he was, even though he got further away from his crusades as AG.

What most people don't know is that New York's governor is one of the weakest in the country. The real power is had by the majority leaders in the Assembly and Senate, and they are usually of different parties so hold everything hostage, and the Governor can't do much about it.

The dirty dealing with Bruno, although sort of deserved, was Spitzer's attempt to get both houses run by Democrats to give him a better chance to get a word in edgewise. It didn't work.
