Bachmann: "we will starve the beast of Obamacare"
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2010/04/08/2261810.aspx

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), highlighting the importance of the midterm elections, gave some insight (on with Sean Hannity) into how Republicans might try to throw a wrench into health reform -- if they take back the House and Senate.

They would try to defund it, stripping it out of any appropriations bill. That, in turn, would set up a showdown with the White House, which would inevitably veto any measure that doesn't fund health care.

It would turn into a staring contest -- or who could hold their breath longer.

HANNITY: OK. So let's just assume for a minute that conservatives Republicans take back the House of Representatives, maybe not the Senate, maybe the Senate. What can you do specifically? And what do you think can be accomplished to stop the move to socialism, the weakening of our national defense? What do you think can actually happen?

BACHMANN: Number one, we starve the beast of Obamacare. We don't fund Obamacare. And we don't fund ... from there we tell the truth about what's in the bill. The more we tell the truth to the American people the more they're going to recognize we must repeal that bill in February of 2013. I think we will.

8. Is there any poll data showing that people are running from Bachmann yet?
Or are her constituants really as stupid as they seem?

3. Why does she wait until Republicans have a majority to "tell the truth" about the bill. . .
Let's hear it now, Congresswoman. Tell us, in specific detail, the terrible truth about HCR. It can only help you win more seats in November. Do tell, and please be specific. Don't just try to scare the gullible and the ill-informed with exaggerations and outright lies. Tell us the truth -- or at least, the truth as you understand it -- and let us decide now if you deserve a return to your seat in November, or if the Democrats should be swept to an even larger majority.

Do tell.

10. Her district was drawn by the republicans for comfort
it is gerrymandered to death. And it is republican, republican republican. A republican area in the surrounding DFL tide. It's gonna be pretty hard for her to loose. Unless people see that she is batshit crazy and want her out of there. All she has done the last two years is run around the country and make a spec tale of herself. She has proposed no bill except the one to get rid of Health care. She has done nothing for her district. She is a celeb seeking nutso. And if the people in her district don't dump her she will be there for ever.
