Pat Buchanan is bat shit crazy ..... on w/ Tweety
That crazy old man is sticking up for Dixie.

Lincoln forced Virginia to join the Confederate States of America :grr:
because he wanted them to join the Union Army and attack the south
after Ft. Sumter.

Gen. Lee he was from VA.
Jefferson Davis President of the C.S.A. had his capital in Richmond, VA.

3. Then he is a traitor to this country.

"I pledge allegiance to the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. Once nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Notice the words "one nation" and "indivisible"?

Hello Pat?

4. I'm surprised Pat wasn't dressed in a white sheet for that segment
Those excuses he was giving sounded like they were taken right out of the KKK manual.

5. Slavery wasn't that big a deal it was the nasty north that forced the south ..
.... to fire on Ft. Sumter and Lincoln wanted people in the United States Army to
fight for the United States even the ones in Virginia.

6. He's an old, angry racist.
He's proud of his membership in "pro-white" organizations. His attempt to shout down and "correct" Ms. Finney, a descendant of slaves, was repulsive.

It's beyond understanding that MSNBC continues to lend credibility to Buchanan's racism by giving him a constant forum.

7. He is a bully and has been his whole life
He and his brothers used to beat up Jewish kids on the way home from school ....
Daddy got them boxing lessons.

He stayed out of Vietnam w/ a bad knee but jogged miles in the 60s & 70s.

He is on record that Churchill forced Hitler into war.

The man needs an ass kicking before he dies.

BTW Ms. Finney looked at him like he was a crazy man.

8. IDK That's basically what happen.
Virginia didn't leave the union until after Lincoln called for Union troops from Virginia. It is thought they may not have left the union had Lincoln handled the situation differently. It is certainly one of the more second guessed aspects of the early days of the civil war. Could Lincoln have prevented Virginia from leaving... Clearly Pat thinks the answer is yes. I kind of doubt it.

9. Considering many in the Military in VA were educated @ West Point and
were considered as part of the US military Lincoln had every right to call them up
after the attack on Ft. Sumter.

Although considering VA's history of being a slave state that was not very likely
to happen. I happen to think of Pat's story as revisionist history by people who can
not give up on the notion that the civil war was the war of "northern aggression."
