The political calculus of what is going on in Florida in education is easy to understand! The teachers HATE the Republicans. There were conservative Tea Party activists at the teacher's union rally yesterday in Orlando. The Republican Party is punishing the teachers here! Someone of influence who has access to the president, PLEASE tell Obama to make the Republicans look like fools by not giving FL a RTTT grant. It's the ONLY way to get the teacher vote from Florida in 2012!
PS: 11 Republicans joined with Dems and even voted against this. This had bipartisan opposition!!!
Here is a Republican using Obama for political gain. I don't think Obama intended for such a harsh attack on teachers, however! The teachers will remember in November!!!!
