Tea Party Express Goes After Stupak

By CQ-Roll Call Staff | April 9, 2010 8:24 AM | Permalink | Comments (0)

Stupak.jpgThree Tea Party Express buses are in Michigan's Upper Peninsula today, making more stops in Bart Stupak's district. Stupak is the Democrat who's now considered a traitor to the anti-abortion cause because of his vote for the health care bill.

The group's political action committee, called Our Country Deserves Better, says it has raised $80,000 toward a planned anti-Stupak $250,000 ad campaign, according to the Bloomberg news service.

Here's the ad:

At the bus tour's first stop, the Detroit Free Press reports, Tea Party Express chairman Mark Williams told a crowd of as many as 200 people: "After nine terms of Bart Stupak, you must be hungry for some representation."

Sitting here in Washington, it's jarring to see Stupak under attack. Here, he doesn't have a reputation for being the kind of red-meat, Republican-bashing liberal who enjoys taunting the other side (and yes, there are plenty of those.)

1. Michael Moore
It is time to get some aggressive progressives out there. How about a crazy idea? Michael Moore for Congress. I doubt he that he wants the job with all of the graft and corruption in Congress.

3. Thank THEM? He has a primary challenger. Seems to me that may have
more to do with it than some jackass teabaggers.

4. That is why I put in the LOL
Instead of bruising primary, the Democrats in Stupak's district can rally behind the challenger. If their was a contested primary in that district it might have been harder to win in November. Now that he is gone if his current challenger doesn't pick up other primary opposition it bodes well for us to retain that seat.

Let the baggers celebrate, let them think they won this battle, they may ultimately lose the war. . .LOL
