Who is the leader of the Republican Party ?? |
|
Edited on Fri Apr-09-10 09:27 AM by kentuck
For, without a leader, they are like a chicken with its head cut off, they are directionless.
Perhaps it is Sarah Palin or Michele Bachman? Certainly they represent the intellectual energy of the Party.
Or maybe it is Newt Gingrich? He is the "ideas" candidate. Unfortunately, sometimes he has ideas like shutting down the government.
Or maybe it is Mitt Romney? As the former Governor of Massachusetts, he is the person most connected to the idea of "Obamacare".
Or maybe it is Jeb Bush? America will certainly be ready for another ambush from the bushes and the Bush crime family - after most of America has forgotten what his brother did to the country?
The truth of the matter is that there is no leader of the Republican Party and any of those mentioned above would divide the Party more than unite it. So all their dreams and illusions about winning back the White House may be just a little more difficult than winning the House or Senate? Even that may be far-fetched?

4. They don't require a leader, because they all lead... |

As in leading the sheep to the slaughter.

9. The real question is probably Who has the strongest network within the party? |
|
It's been said that at the end of the 2nd Clinton term Bush Sr. had essentially the only viable network within the party and that's how W was pushed through the crowd into the nomination.

10. Until we fix ourselves and stop doing their job for them they will not fix themselves. |

Sorry to be the Debbie Downer.
If we don't move back to the left they will never move back to the sane right.
No single party system can endure for too long successfully...and they will come back to power eventually. The question is will they come back with more of the same and lead us to self destruction or will they return to sanity?
The won't move unless we do.
We followed them to the right in the post-Reagan era. Now only a move back to the left would pull them to the sane-right and away from the Bachman Palin overdrive...
