5. Keep it up code pink, that fat fuck will snap eventually
I'm waiting for him to lunge at one of these ladies in full view of the cameras.

It'll be difficult for his pals in the liberal media to explain that away.

Even Dances With Rove Gregory may be at a loss to defend him.

12. I'd eat a bug if CP would actually follow through on one of these faux arrests which
probably means detaining Karl until local authorities come, which means probably handcuffing him real quick, maybe posing as an autograph seeker which means probably getting detained and possibly facing some type charges and or fines, deserving or not. But who knows, you get the right judge, the case against Rove might be cracked right open!

15. Code Pink would be arrested for kidnapping which is a felony.
You can't detain anyone who is not wanted by law enforcement even if you don't move them. It is kidnapping. Still going to cheer them on?

43. They don't need to that. The point is made
by what they are doing, that he is a war criminal. It's very clever of them to use the symbolism but to deny him the opportunity to have THEM arrested. I bet he wishes they would do what you suggest. These women are way too smart to fall into that trap.

16. in most jurisdictions, IF they actually handcuffed rove
they would get charged with both assault and unlawful imprisonment

the latter is usually a felony

the standard for "citizen's arrests" vary.

many states have the ":in fact committed" type of standard which essentially means the arrester has to WITNESS the crime firsthand and often that the arrest has to be contemporaneous (iow it JUST happened).

this varies greatly from state to state.

in brief, any physical force by a person on another must meet the "reasonableness" standard. non-cops do not have qualified or transactional, or any other kind of immunity against even brief false imprisonment. whether or not there is a good faith exception varies also.

in brief, it could get one in some serious hot water.

hancuffing somebody, as i said, unlawfully is going to be a felony. punching them in the nose would be a misdemeanor

31. yep. and nevada is one of those states requiring the crime to have been committed
in the presence of the "arresting" citizens:

Nevada Revised Statue (NRS) 171.126 states, "a private person may arrest another for a public offense committed or attempted in his presence."

Now, I know some here are going to claim that Rove committed his crimes in CodePink's presence because he committed them in everyone's presence. But that ain't gonna wash in the real world.

The mutherfucker belongs in prison. He's committed a long list of felonies, including massive election fraud.

Code Pink speaks for me when they call attention to this man's crimes, which he hasn't been held accountable for.

17. If it sheds any light at all on Rove's crimes, or if one person is motivated to research the truth
then yes, I believe it's worth it. Same answer for Obama/Biden: I hate to see them harassed, but if it brings the truth to light and inspires any discussion of Obama's "innocence"in the face of so very many lies then~ YES. One person knowing and acting on the truth that they weren't before, can be a very powerful force for good.
Besides, if someone is going to do that to President Obama, they're going to do it despite the truth, or Code Pink showing restraint.
Without the impetus of the truth, the christian extremists will soon transfer their hatred and anger to whatever's new and shiny. Anger at the Truth is all that keeps C.P. going.

Don't get me wrong, I do see your point, and believe there are better ways to go about it. However, every side has its crazies, and we could do far worse than Code Pink. (Think cheese hats, joker shirts, and purple bandaids... Or just Palin, a better example of bumbling insanity I've never seen!)

23. So in other words, you think this is nothing more than a political stunt?
If that's the case, then you're ignoring Rove's criminal behavior, including his likely involvement in the Plame leak and his refusal to appear before Congress.

if you seriously think that COde Pink is going to successfully "arrest" Rove and bring him before the bar of justice, I want some of what you're smoking.

I expected people to disagree with me and many have on the grounds that there is merit in focusing serious attention on Rove's transgressions (I happen to disagree with the contention that trying to arrest Rove will have that effect since I think all it will do is focus attention on those attempting to arrest Rove and they don't come across as "serious" types). But I didn't really think anyone would argue that they are doing this with the belief that it will actually result in Rove facing justice.

45. I just heard from Jodie that she did it when Karl Rove was
up there calling for Obama to be "held accountable." She asked 'when are YOU going to be held accountable?' and did the handcuff thing again. In this case, we were countering what they do. If you don't like it, then we're willing to listen to your better ideas. You can post them here or PM me if you prefer. I won't, however, hold my breath.
