On Rachel. The President speaking about the mine disaster. |
|
He tells about 25 year old Josh Davis writing a letter to his girlfriend. He asks her to just take care of his baby girl if anything happens to him. What the fuck kind of a job does that have to be to have a 25 year old kid thinking like that? He was right. He didn't come home. I've never gone to work a day in my life where it would occur to me that I might not make it home. One job was somewhat hazardous but the odds of being killed if we had an accident were slim. Those bastards running mines like that need to be locked up!

dangerous jobs are out there and there are enough desperate people to fill them... Don Blankenship needs to be seriously held responsible -he profited from the risk, he needs to pay for the crime.
I have to go into all kinds of neighborhoods and on rural roads throughout the United States. I figure I will probably either get shot in a driveby or when I accidently happen upon someone's crop or meth lab.

4. Well I guess that makes for good theatre for the President |

But Obama's track record on the side of the mining industry and owners tells another story. I posted this some time ago but no one wanted to hear it then: http://journals.democraticunderground.com/theHandpuppet/92

5. Every time I put on my EMS Uniform |

I knew I might not come home... and I was younger than that kid.
That said, the safety violations should have never, ever happened.
