Would An Improving Economy Hurt Republicans In The 2010 Elections? |
|
Edited on Sat Apr-10-10 12:38 AM by TomCADem
If so, then how should we expect Rupert Murdoch's media properties, Fox News and the Wall Street Journal, to cover economic events?
I would expect the corporate media to:
1. Play an endless loop of stories about Teabaggers and angry Americans without any focus on whether Democratic or Republican policies are likely to help them.
2. Display good economic news separate from any discussion of policies adopted or implemented by Democrats. For example, retail sales mystically rise in March without any attribution to Democratic policies. If there is a good economic report, make no reference whatsoever to the actions or policies of Democratic leaders.
3. Conversely, make sure to tie any bad economic news to the Democrats. For example, jobless claims rise, and "Democrats struggle to respond!"
4. Ignore the economy entirely as it improves, and focus on vague things like the loss of freedom, liberty, the size of government, and how Americans are overtaxed.
5. Ignore any substantive discussions by the President or other Democrats, but create nontroversies such as the false debate between the President and Sarah Palin in order to give the latter a gravitas that she simply lacks.
Rince and repeat.

these "news" outlets will continue to spew garbage regardless
Yes, in answer to your orig. question, it will hurt the refucks when the economy slowly stabilises and improves through this year.

I see you are up to speed already. It is just more of the same which the M$M is spewing.

totally. We are up against a real monster in M$M. Add that to the total lack of attention span of the bulk of the American public and you get... people actually giving credence to a Palin run for presidency. OMFG are we a sick country or what?!

yesterday evening they reported that Sarah Palin only has an approval rate of 34% among Republicans and 24% overall nationwide. She might be wildly popular with Tea Party members but overall, not so much.

How many people when they go into the ballot box are going to actually vote for Palin after they think about it. Any campaign against Palin will be one of great sobriety to highlight her being an idiot.

have no need to change now - their "fans" do not know or understand reality, just empty phrases and hatred.

7. Only reduced unemployment would hurt Republicans. |
|
The stock market went over 11,000, meaning nothing to the unemployed!
