I hope they work though it peacefully.
Apparently the the speaker of the lower house has now assumed the presidency..
I sure hope the EU is going to get involved & help them through this ... The head of the central bank and the military chief were also killed.
At least the prime minister was not aboard the plane

9. Don't forget the election of 1800 |

and the subsequent duel between Hamilton and Burr. Also the push by Burr and others to carve out their own country. We had our issues early on as well. Our Capitol was also burned in the War of 1812. South Carolina was talking succession almost from the beginning.

5. we don't even get CNN-I...just the canned crap they want us to see |
|
One thing I enjoyed when we went to Tahiti, was being able to watch CNN-I (the only programming not in Tahitian:)..). It was amazing to see intelligent people sitting around discussing things..without the screaming heads & all the damned commercials:)

6. Well they still have their prime minister |
|
Like in Ireland and France and a lot of parliamentary governments, the President is more the public outreach person, not the head of the government.
It sounds like its a great day of sorrow for the Polish people, people who have seen so much sorrow through many generations. I feel for them, but I do not fear for them.

head of the Central bank and several bureaucrats also died here. This is a massive blow for the political class and I can't remember this happening to another country post WW2.
