Wonkette exposes newspapers as pathetic and useless
Palin criticizes Obama's major nuclear pact with Russia. George Stephanopoulos asks Obama to comment and Obama responds that Palin isn't an expert on nuclear matters. Palin fires back that Obama is the one who isn't qualified on nuclear issues.

All the newspapers report on this exchange and that's fine. It's perfectly newsworthy. But obviously they left something out. These two prominent politicians are questioning each other's qualifications. How about doing some reporting now? How about comparing their qualifications? Obama has been talking about nuclear proliferation since his primary campaign for IL senator. It was the first thing he took up when he became a senator, and he led on the passage of major legislation, arguably the defining legislation of his short senate career.

How about a SINGLE MENTION of this legislation, from ANY newspaper? How about a simple link to Lugar's press release, like Wonkette did?

I guess not. I guess they figure that would be unfair to Palin.

1. It's a sad day when Palin can correctly be described as a "prominent politician"
I've been thinking about this for months, and I can't come up with anything that qualifies her to hold public office at any level, including Dog Catcher or Poster of Bills.

The fact that the media grants her the appearance of equal credibility is disgusting. It's the same as when they have expert climatologists "balanced" by some dittohead asshole who rattles off the standard contrarian talking points.

They create the impression that a serious debate is going on, when in fact it's simply a child trying to squeal among the grownups.

2. George defended himself by saying
she was a VP candidate, you know, a candidate for the #2 spot in the land. That in itself, ipso facto, makes her and her views newsworthy.

4. And that's the larger sorrow...
That she even got that close to the Oval Office is horrifying, as I'm sure everyone can agree!

3. What? We need someone to "expose" this? It's hiding in plain sight.

There are many facts that can be presented regarding each politicians qualifications. The newspapers do not print these facts. I wonder why?

Well - everyone knows that contemporary newspapers are only good for infotainment and lining litter boxes and bird cages.

What will our kitties and birdies do when all the newspapers are gone?
