Newt and Family Values
http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2010_04/023285.php

FAMILY VALUES.... With disgraced former House Speaker Newt Gingrich having spent quite a bit of time this week in the national media -- an oddly frequent occurrence -- Jon Chait raises an observation that often goes overlooked.

On the subject of Gingrich, here's one thing I don't understand. John Edwards' philandering has made him a public pariah, understandably so. But Gingrich's marital behavior was probably even more disgusting. He cheated on his first wife and told her he wanted a divorce while she was recovering from surgery for cancer. He subsequently cheated on his second wife with a much younger aide. It's fairly amazing how Gingrich has managed to avoid any stigma from this. He's just a conservative "ideas guy."

I'd go just a little further, still. Gingrich's scandalous personal life and admitted adultery was concurrent with Gingrich launching an impeachment crusade against Bill Clinton for ... his scandalous personal life and admitted adultery.

Gingrich then proceeded to characterize himself as an ally of the religious right, and started giving tours of Washington's "Godly heritage."

In other words, Gingrich's political work was discredited, his moral standing was discredited, and his scholarship has been discredited. And yet, he remains a go-to guest for major media outlets, and has positioned himself as one of the right's "big thinkers."

When we talk about the bankruptcy of conservatism, Gingrich offers a helpful example.

2. Sadly, you're wrong. If you watched any cable
yesterday, it seems everyone was listening when he launched a blistering attack against Obama and the Dems. The question should be why he is at all material? I suspect they have no one else to form more than two coherent sentences in a row, even if everything that spews from his mouth is lies.

3. It's funny how
the Right Wing dingbat, tea-bagging morons ignore the transgressions of people like Newt. Hell the current leader of Right Wing propaganda--Rush--has gone through 5 marriages.(they also like to ignore the fact that Rush is a drug addict, draft dodger and a college drop out)

4. Nootie got baptized a catholic awhile ago
Just goes to show how low Pope Benny the Rat will take his super-cult into the gutter. I remember when I was going through the catholic brainwashing program, the nuns told us that after just ONE DIVORCE a catholic could no longer receive ANY OTHER sacraments, and that includes marriage.

Newt is a thrice married serial adulterer, so fittingly, Benny the Rat lets him climb on board the sick sex machine of the catholic church. Pa..f'ing...thetic!

5. I worked with right-wing types and several times was aware of them messing around
on their wives. It was always a "boys will be boys" attitude. No outrage or disgust. Usually it was more of a "I don't blame him considering what he's married to thing." Right-wingers only express outrage if it's someone they already hate.
As for myself, when someone on our side does it, it is disgust I feel. I'm amazed they can be that stupid. Not so much that I want them to resign though. Better one of our dirtbags keeps his job than let a worse one of theirs have it.
