7. Reformed victim?
I mean it all depends on the situation. If you testify against some criminal and feel good about it, what does that make you?

8. The word you are looking for is sadist.
there is a German word for that to, where someone takes pleasure from an enemies pain.

I think people should feel sorrow at any other sorrow.

That concept was in a fictional book, Sword of Truth series. When the Seeker used the sword to strike down an opponent, he felt all the pain of the loss to the person. I found that interesting and an important comment, especially since the books had an elitist tilt to it. It showed empathy and not control or sadism within the ideas of struggles.

Also the scene in unforgiven, where the blind guy actually felt the wrong of what he did, even though it could be argued it was deserved, and Will Munny quote is really deep.

The Schofield Kid: It don't seem real... how he ain't gonna never breathe again, ever... how he's dead. And the other one too. All on account of pulling a trigger.
Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

There is great pain in seeing someone else's suffering, it is the hardest thing about justice, loving someone and yet sometimes knowing that to have a just society there has to be punishment for some actions. Not to hurt the person, nor for any desire for a person to feel harm, but for the good of many people in society and for the reasons of showing what a society will and will not tolerate.

(note that both examples are extremes of violence, but the feeling is the same for any hardship added to any individual. And violence is wrong, but there is a metaphor in those statements for most actions where others are caused suffering.)

23. As I understand the definition of the word ...
people who enjoy inflicting pain or watching the pain of others are sadists. That is the opposite of people who enjoy having pain inflicted upon themselves by others or seeking out and experiencing pain from whatever source they can find.

I don't know why you are asking. Perhaps you would explain? Or am I just being masochistic for wanting to know?
