Obama leaves Whitehouse early, ditches press
Somewhere there must be a amateur video of Major Garrett running after the Presidents motorcade pleading for him to stop. Oh well I am sure it will turn up. In the meantime Fauxnews is reporting that Obama met with several dictators in private to discuss plans for a major coup. Oh wait hold on calm down, it was just a soccer game, and a father who was a little late to watch his daughter.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama quietly breached years of protocol on Saturday morning by leaving the White House without the press with him.
About two hours before reporters were supposed to be in position to leave with the president, Obama left the grounds of the White House. Members of the press were told he was attending one of his daughter's soccer games in northwest Washington, D.C.
The White House press corps traditionally travels with the president anywhere he goes, inside and outside the country, to report on the president's activities for the benefit of informing the public and for historical record.
After Obama left, a press aide hastily gathered members of the media who happened to be at the White House early or working on other matters. They rushed to a van and left the White House to catch up with the president.
Too late. By the time, the press van appeared to arrive at the president's location, the press was told he was already departing. Time to go back to the White House.

1. reminds me of "The American President" when
Michael Douglas (President) wants to hop out of the car and get flowers for his girlfriend. Michale J. Fox tells him "No - there will be no hopping sir".

15. Frankly I worry for him, and as Long as the Secret Service is on the job,
I think he should do as much nice family stuff as he can.

The Resmugs would just call it a phony photo-op anyway.

4. Not quite
The pool is always at the White House. It's their job. They were informed about 15 minutes after the President left, true. He did go to a soccer game, as he and/or Michelle and sometimes Biden, do almost every Saturday morning. How could this have surprised the press. Unbelievable.

5. Republican or Democrat if a parent wants to attend their child's event with out the press
I see nothing wrong with that. Much is asked of the President, but giving up their parental responsibilities shouldn't be one of them (at least not when it can be cone with out hurting the nation).

6. Dog, what a bunch of crybabies. Can't they just STFU about something? Anything?
If it were me, I'd cut 'em off, except for regularly scheduled pressers. But I'd have Helen Thomas over for tea at least once a week, too. Then they'd REALLY have something to bitch about.

11. Why does the press pool have to accompany him to a freaking soccer game?
That's just silly.

12. Good for him. I used to duck out of work early too.
Although the press was never a worry and sports are boring.

13. This is not the first time he has done this
As I recall, he ditched the press to go get ice cream with his girls. If i was president, I would always be ditching the press pool.
