I was disabled in 2003 and only started to work part time/contract in 2007. Last month one of my clients offered me a full-time job. My wages are $10,000 less than there were in 2003, but I am so grateful to have regular work. Having been a contractor with them, I was a known commodity so I have to think they really like me. I am treated well and I like all the people I work with. It is such a blessing; I am so thankful. It also helps that I live within biking distance so I have no commute expenses and almost no commute time.
My work situation was not as dire as so many others. But I thought it worth reporting another DU gaining full-time employment, another new job added to the US statistics.

It's unfortunate about the $10K less, but it's so nice to like the people you work with and to be appreciated by them. And the commute is fabulous too. I'm really happy for you!

23. This is wonderful news |
|
Not too long ago we were having so many posts about people losing jobs. Now there are a few getting jobs. That is truly wonderful. Having gone through months of worrying over being laid off I was very relieved to get a job. It's a horrible place to be.
