Al Gore, Ugly American
Businessmen, practicing the great American Pasttime... Now have the GALL to be pretend to be OFFENDED by Al Gore? Could they sink any lower? First to pretend Canadian politics are beyond reproach, and then to say it affected Colombia? PUHLEEEEESE! :eyes:

1. "I have a message to deliver to the cute people of the world..."
"...if you're cute, or maybe you're beautiful...there's MORE OF US UGLY MOTHERFUCKERS OUT THERE THAN YOU ARE!! So watch out." - Frank Zappa

3. OMG, my dad got a 2-week free subscription to that piece of crap.
He was interested in it for the stock quotes, but he's just livid at the editorials. Apparently the other day, there was one on "why welfare is responsible for the childhood obesity epidemic." He said he can't wait for when they call to ask him to pay for the subscription so he can tell them what he thinks of their paper, which in his words, "makes the Wall Street Journal's editorial page look like a socialist paper."

4. They didn't even have the guts to say who wrote it.
Corporations and corporates are scared of global warming only for the reason of the politics which are evolving out of it. If you notice they act like they are protecting nation states rights when in reality Dow, Exxon and others are independent corporate states that work outside of the laws of individual nation states.

5. That's really great if one is literate because , "the 'ugly American' of the book title actually
refers to one of the heroes, a plain-looking engineer named Homer Atkins, who lives with the local people, comes to understand their needs, and gives genuinely-useful assistance with small-scale projects such the development of a simple bicycle-powered water pump."

6. Turnabout is fair play,
all you Canadians are welcome to fly here and say Bush's policies suck.

Also this paragraph tells me the author is a liar regarding Al Gore.

"But the self-described Inventor of the Internet sees it differently. He seemingly feels no restraint in levying judgments on other countries, even if it damages U.S. ties with them."

You lost whatever credibility you had with that slander.

7. Pure Right-wing Propaganda.
Not only did he offer an opinion of global warming, he offered an opinion about the Canadian government, too -- as if his Oscar for his error-filled documentary had gone to his head and he suddenly confused himself with the ruler of the world.

Notice how they throw in "error-filled" as if it's an accepted fact. They don't bother to list these supposed errors, do they? I wonder why?

And since when does offering an opinion about a government equate to being ruler of the world. I'm guessing that a magazine called "Foreign Affairs" has at times offered an opinion or two about governments. Gee, they must have confused themselves with the ruler of the world!

But then what should we expect from an error-filled magazine?

8. Only 13% believe that Harper is good for the environment
So, I don't think Al Gore is saying anything we Canadians don't know.

12. Ah, I knew someone would ask....

It seems Canadians are unsure of Liberal leader Stéphane Dion OR Harper on environmental issues.
