Matthews fantasizing about Giuliani in a late night Fight Club scenario
Don't know if his vision includes Rudy being bare-chested and greased-up or not. Edward R. Murrow is spinning in his grave. Journalism is dead.
---
MATTHEWS: Who would win a street fight? Rudy Giuliani -- just think of a street fight now over in Queens somewhere. It's a dark night, it's about 2 in the morning. Two guys are out behind the building, right? On a vacant lot. Rudy Giuliani or President Ahmadinejad, who would win that fight?

DUHAIME: I am putting my money on Rudy on that one. I think Rudy is the -- I think Rudy will take that fight.

MATTHEWS: If he wins that notion, he's the next president. That's one to look for. Who is tougher than Ahmadinejad? Because he is our biggest worry right now.

2. Rudy
is like any other fascist. All tough when he's backed by his stormtroopers, but piss his pants if he actually have to defend himself (or get deferrments.)

3. Can you believe that this country would elect a republican for president.
Now if rove can steal it, if he can disenfranchise millions and millions of voters, if they can get the voting machines to switch votes would be the only way. And this country is on to most of his tricks by now. And they are looking for any kind of fraud he might pull.

That is the only damn way a republican will be the next president. That they find another way to steal it.

4. What stupidity is this?
Gee, Chris. Hitler vs. FDR, who would win THAT street brawl? Could Ho have kicked LBJ's ass? LBJ was one tough sonofabitch. Hell, Ahmadinejad isn't even tough. He's just a nutbag who happens to look good (and somewhat threatening) in a suit.

5. That is without a doubt
The most assanine talking point.

Who would win in a street fight?

Where the f**k does he think he is? West Side Story?

This is not the 12th Century where monarchs and nobles fight in combat.

Join the 21st Century Chris.

10. 10 Monotomous White Men
I turned on about 15 seconds of this pukefest...and that's all I could take.

They show a scene of the candidates walking in...it reminded me of the crotchy old men walking the "articles of impeachment" to the Senate...led by Henry "Youthful Indiscretion...I have a load in my pants" Hyde. Either that or the procession of the undertakers on Monty Python.

13. If I were Matthews boss, I would have him in the office first thing in the morning.
He does this constantly, to the point where I can no longer watch MSNBC. I just don't want the station to have me count as a viewer. It would be wonderful if we just stuck with the threads, not tune into the station and whack their numbers to hell. It would be a good indicator of how un-interested the public is in these repukes. Is Fox going to be carrying this??

15. Matthews is the most repressed closeted gay man on television
Edited on Thu May-03-07 06:50 PM by alcibiades_mystery
He's a living, breathing argument for coming out of the closet. He's a stark contrast to the healthy, self-assured sexuality of most gay men I know, who require no Matthews-esque bizarre fascist cathexis.

Having grown up "in Queens somewhere," and recognizing this as Matthews gesture to working class toughness (for which Queens stands as a "white" model...Brooklyn would connote too much blackness), I have to truly laugh. This guy is a real piece of work.

17. Tweety is beyond embarrassing
I mean, this klown worked for Tip O'Neill?? Tip must be spinning in his grave, and you know damned well that if he heard Tweet giving one of his nauseating verbal BJs to some "manly man" Repig, he'd kick his ass so hard that he'd have to unbutton his collar to take a piss.
