Volcanic Ash Strands French Students In Mpls

"(WCCO)
Some young students from France are getting an unexpected vacation in the Twin Cities. They're stranded at the Hilton in downtown Minneapolis.

But while it's not a planned trip, the students are making do with the help of strangers.

It's not home, but these students are grateful to be at the Hilton. They were supposed to fly back to Paris a few days ago, but the Iceland volcano put a stop to that.

"We left Portland, Ore. yesterday to go back to Paris with the kids. The air teller didn't tell us that there was something going on, so we got stuck in Minneapolis," said Bras Pierre Marie, a French teacher.
"

Nice story, showing how we should be handling situations like this. I think the kids are going to get bussed around to the local attractions over the weekend. Nice video at link. From what I understand, the Hilton is providing 16 rooms gratis.

1. They're getting a lifetime Hilton loyalty for it.
This generosity is worth its weight in gold.

2. I love the Hilton, I always stay at Hilton properties (Homewood, Hampton, Embassy, etc.)
They're my favorite.

And now I love them even more.

YAY!

Thank you for the nice story!

Recommended.
