Black Man To Tea Party: Welcome to My World |

Now they know how it feels to be stereotyped for something someone else did. http://cons-lie.com/2010/04/17/black-man-to-tea-party-welcome-to-my-world/

1. stigmas and sterotypes |

The Tea Party protesters are called racist because there is no other rational explaination for their actions. They did not complain when a white president created a much worse situation than what we currently have. They do not function in the real world... protesting taxes when taxes have gone down for them... carrying signs that are vile and without merit
people of color in this country have had to tolerate so much that it is lunacy to think that the tea party protesters can begin to relate to this Black man's world

Thanks for posting.
I never thought about it like that. It's a very simple comparison, but sums it up nicely. Every tea bagger should have to read this and maybe they'll be a little more alert to overt racism during their demonstrations. Walk a mile and all that...works very nicely here.

3. When there are signs that openly proclaim Teabag racism against the POTUS and people of color |
|

and the Teabaggers themselves don't "see" what they are saying is racist, well, then they'll never get it. In the same vein, there are those amongst the group of Teabaggers who simply don't care. They'll spit on sitting congresspeople, call them names, get in fights and applaud their behavior.
So, trying to get Teabaggers to be sensitive to what it is like to be Black, let alone any person of color, is futile. They can protest that "they aren't racist" until kingdom come. They will still hold up that sign and proudly pose for the camera, having no remorse for what they are trying to project for the public at large.
The scary thing is that most of the Teabaggers know exactly what they are doing. A lot of them don't give a damn. The Teabaggers are angry and feel superior to the man sitting in the oval office. They think they are smarter than the POTUS himself (despite his education and civility which these rubes don't have).
Even though there is the occasional speaker who will bleat loudly on stage during their rallies that, "They are nonpartisan and not racist", the Teabaggers are only trying to sell themselves as being benign to the outside world. But all it does is show the lie in all its glory.
The emperor has no clothes. Unfortunately, pictures tell the tale about their media-constructed pogroms.

...I'd have to agree. I think a big part of the problem, however, is that many of them are so institutionalized into racism, that they really don't even know that they are. Many are simply and utterly ignorant and so don't see any reason for programs like affirmative action.
But you are right. Many of them know exactly what is going on.
