International Dark Lord Day is upon us again. Come join me for a day of Craft Brew Magic!

Dear Moderator, this event is international in scope, even though it occurs in Indiana. It must not be hidden in the Indiana forum and must be present for people all across the entire nation and the world to read.

Three Floyd's Brewery, in Munster Indiana, is once again having a beer celebration on Saturday, April 24th. It is the one day a year where their Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout is sold. This beer's 3 variations are rated from number 4 to 18 beers in the world and they have one more rated as number 29. That is 4 of the top 29 beers in the world brewed in Munster Indiana.

The event is sublime. Beer lovers from across this great country and a few from other countries come together to celebrate the art of craft brewing. They do it mostly by sharing. Each time I go seems better than the last. A joyous occasion of beer drinking and sharing among-st some of the friendliest people imaginable. Three Floyd's gives out golden tickets for the purchase of take out Dark Lord, and they are unfortunately sold out, but the beer's are freely available in the pub, which is where I will be found eating good pub food and drinking Vanilla Bean Dark Lord, rated #4 in the world. I guarantee there will also be plenty of sharing going on.

I will be there with plenty of friends. The event kicks off lat in the morning. That is half the fun. Daytime partying hopefully under the friendly mid-western sun.

If anyone is interested in attending drop me a line and I will figure out a way for us to meet. Bring some strange beers to share if you have any and definitely bring designated driver. It will be a blast!

1. The description from their website as follows
"A demonic Russian Style Imperial Stout, brewed with Intelligensia coffee Mexican vanilla, and Indian sugar this beer defies description, available one day a year in April at the brewery, Dark Lord Day."

Hail Satan Beer! That sounds like some great stuff!

The rest of their selection looks pretty good as well.

Unfortunately, I ain't anywhere near Indiana. And this may be the first time I have used "unfortunately" in that sentence.

5. Expect a crowd. Usually several thousand attend this event.
But it is the friendliest crowd you can imagine. I don't quite know why but the craft brew community is joyous! In the late afternoon they start the bands up. They usually have 5 or more play before the event closes up.

I encourage anyone who loves different beers of all types to attend. It is a grand time indeed!

6. Speaking of beer,

we were just in Kodiak where the local microbrewery makes Sarah Pale Ale, complete with the likeness of the former half-term governor, looking rather like the St. Pauli girl, on the label. I'm sure she hasn't caught wind of it yet, or she'll be demanding her royalties.

7. That reminds me of Obamagang!
I had some just after the election. Brewery Ommegang brews some excellent beer. I loved it!

Sarah sure would make some pale ale, but I wouldn't drink it, I hear it tastes like Moose p***.

I like the darker stuff anyway!
