31. They can't include Brown
That would fly in the face of their bullshit experience meme because everyone knows that senators aren't executives and are not qualified to be president. If the considered Brown a candidate they wouldn't be able to whine that Obama is not experienced enough.

47. So their number one criterium, as always, is to be certain the candidate is
nothing "like Obama".

Actually, I think they've got that covered -- Brown isn't black. I'm convinced that's what fuels their hysteria. They'd be against any Dem, but Obama being black has pushed them off the edge. Good.

55. I have no doubt that the primary will spell the end of Palin's "career" if she runs
The other candidates will expose her to the point where even her fan base won't be able to support her candidacy. I fully expect any real front-runner to hit her immediately out of the gate about quitting her job as governor.

The best part is that the attacks will come from the same side of the political aisle so Rush and Hannity can't complain about Democratic hit-jobs without sounding (even more) like delusional freaks.

32. The Bloom's Off The Turd...
She's making the money now...striking while the iron's hot, but it doesn't stay that way forever. Her 15 minutes have run longer than most of us had hoped, but her shelf-life is limited...especially since she's nothing more than a "celebrity politician" with no political office or real support ouside of the corporate media. She's not going to get any more big money book advances and in time her speaking fees will shrink as well. Then she's gonna need a new gimmick...and thus i expect she'll try to run for President in 2012...for nothing more than to see how much attention she can get and how much she can sucker financially.

17. okay I don't know much but that makes me smarter than these folk
Barbour, Boehner and BUsh? Reminds me of Larry, Moe and Curly, except not so funny (or talented)
Cantor? Daniels? Gingrich?
We're down to Huckabee already and he's a joke.
Jindal? 'nuff said (and he said it all already on tv)
McDonnell? Who?
Palin? DEAR JESUS LET HER BE THE GOP NOMINEE IN 2012! PLease, please, please, etc
Paul? That would be an interesting campaign, you betcha. My second wish after Palin.
Pawlenty, Perdue, Perry? Okay, fine. See Barbour, Boehner and BUsh above.
Mitt Romney? Of all of them I think he has the best chance of running a legitimate campaign against Big O. A losing campaign, but a legitimate campaign. Unless he personally murders each and every teabagger before the nomination process I doubt he has any sort of shot at all. Still, that wouldn't have deterred the Bush Family so it could happen.

Things look good for 2012 but the party HAS to work hard (should have already started) to take seats away from the GOP in November.

Encourage the Teahadists to run their own candidates and drain the GOPukes resources. Ross Perot put Bill CLinton in the WHite House. Let us help these clowns keep Obama there.

19. I think they are going to run Gen. Patreus and Mitt Romney..
They can cover all bases... Nationalism, Pro-War, anti-abortion, Evangelicals.

They can Rah-Rah the sheeple into a frenzy with the image of Dwight D. Eisenhower, via 24/7 news manipulation of the "Greatest Generation". Gen Patreus will fill in the blank spots.

They will then throw red meat at the evangelicals using Mitt Romney, and catapult the talking points of Wall Street.., by claiming that the average person can be part of the "investor" class. (watch for super bowl ads from Fidelity, Scott Trade, etc.)

Of course, Fox News will provide the Editorial coverage, and the remainder of the news media will roll over to expose their soft under-belly so they can keep up in the TV ratings with Fox....

It's more or less a done deal.... America is screwed... and no one can stop it...

Ok it's too soon after his brother's fuck ups for jeb to run. Bonehead boehner will probably stay in the house if the repigs come close to winning a house majority. The same thing for Cantor. Palin is only in it for the money and anyone of the others would eat her in a debate. Huckabee has the prisoner scandal and also has a cushy job on faux. Paul is too wrong on social issues for them. That just leave Mcdonald, Perdue, Romney, Pawlenty Gingrich, Jindal, and Barbour. Perry won't run.

I'll bet the farm on it.

The rise of Obama in the general American consciousness took less than 2 years. That was unprecedented. In terms of American popular culture (and ultimately that's what American politics is) - and relative to past nominees - Obama "came out of nowhere" to win.

I think the Repugs will attempt to do the same thing - create a new brand to run against Obama. And they will cast a new lead. They will find a somewhat charismatic, intelligent, younger candidate from the minor leagues and hoist them up front. Their candidate will be as unknown to the majority of Americans as either Obama or Palin was in 2006.

I'm mainly basing this on the fact that I think the whole paradigm has changed. I think Presidential candidates will get "created" more quickly now. I think the marketing minds behind the process of creating our candidates have figured out that the American public doesn't need years and years of exposure to a candidate in order to get behind them. So the potential casting pool can be much larger than just known entities now.
