Can anyone relate to this: Being moved by this movie called BLESS THE BEASTS AND THE CHILDREN
I can't even remember how young I was when I saw this, but it made a huge impression on me. I never wanted to kill anything after I saw this, not even a bug.

Just curious if others were affected by this. You probably had to be in a certain age group to get caught up in this. I just remember the end, and crying my eyes out.

It was just so moving.

3. I have never seen the movie,
but philosophically, that's where I am in real life. All living things have a "right to life"

6. May I second your praise for Glendon Swarthout, blogslut?
What a talented soul and what a virtuous environmentalist, too.

7. I need to read more of him
I've only read BTB&TC and Luck and Pluck. The man could turn a phrase:

Oh twain me a twim
where the ffubalo jym.
Where the rede and the
telopen zoom.
Where the nibber is nat,
a conframitous rat-tat-tat.
And the dils
are not icky all doom.

5. I remember it-and several others at about the same time
there were many socially aware movies directed at adolescents during that time period.
J.T. was one of my favorites

8. I remember singing the song in grade school. God, what an awesome working-class hippie school that
was. I remember fighting tears whenever it came up.

15. Being moved? I'm a vegan and an animal liberator.
Figure it out.

I think I was 9 when I first saw that movie. Makes a bit of sense.
