I'm hearing that he was persecuted by "jocks" who were "bullies." Then, that his remedy in joining the Army was to be a nerdy, extra-COMPENSATING type.

3. They are saying he killed two Iraqi soldiars with one bullet
and apparantly he was a legend in his unit. He became ashamed of himself.

He tried out for the Special Forces and got cut. The final insult...He got blisters on both feet and he was tuckered out......he quit.

5. They are painting a portrait of what drove him to do what he did...
which was a combination of factors. One of those was PTSD.

These were the kinds of warning signs that came out of Napolitano's office that the RW went batshit crazy about.

8. So was I - somehow, I decided I wasn't going to gain my revenge
by slaughtering hundreds of innocent fellow citizens, many of them children.

- Broken home

- Constantly bullied in school

- Unable to relate to others, especially people who were unlike himself

- Driven by conspiracy theories

- Attracted to violence

- Constantly angry

- Manipulative

- Conflicted about his own participation in the US government

- He suffered a nervous breakdown

And that's just the first hour

Which is why they can be so hard to catch.

Heaven knows how long it would have taken to catch McVeigh if the license plate hadn't fallen off the getaway car.

18. I doubt that they were able to drive that far with no plates
unless their intent was to be stopped BEFORE they reached Oklahoma.

The lies you tell yourself are always the worst.

17. He was emotionally shut down, completely so
That's what struck me about this whole thing.

It's really a shame psychologists didn't have a few years to pick him apart.

19. I watched the show
I found that he was also narcissistic and vain. It really matter to him what other people thought about him. For the record, he was a cold blooded killer.

21. As someone that has gone through intensive Combat I think I understand
I was young and naive and believed in my country. It was because of my stint in the military and got to witness first hand the cruelty and brutality of the American combat soldier, and the LIES from our Government that I lost virtually all respect for the US government. In fact for quite some time I also held a simmering hatred for authority. I have gotten over it pretty much after over forty years, but there are times that I remember things.. Horrible things..
