"Restraint" often separates politicians from idiots, Palin flunks that test.
I often wonder if Palin has any advisers that ask her to show restraint when she gives speeches at TB functions and conservative events, like CPAC.

Restraint in politics is the ability to attack an opponent's policies without offending or turning off your potential voters/supporters and without making yourself look like an idiot/batshit crazy wingnut.

Palin hasn't a clue of what the word 'restraint' means. Apparently, she was born without that part of the brain. Again, is anyone advising that wingnut?

Palin isn't officially running for Pres, not yet. She is a frontrunner, or at least among them for the GOP nomination.

When Palin calls the sitting President of the USA a "Marxist", "Fascist", "Terrorist", "UnAmerican", and all the other hateful things that Sarah says about the sitting US President, she shows no concept of having an ability to show restraint. When she tells her Teabag crowds to "Reload", she shows no restraint.

Sarah, there are ways to attack the President's policies without resorting to hateful name calling. It's called restraint.

Smart right wing politicians know better. They defer the hate to the loudspeakers of hate. Rush, Beck, Fox. Let Rush do their hating for them. Let Rush peddle the message of hate for them. That way, said politicians stay clean and don't have to portray themselves as right wing extremists.

Palin doesn't get that concept. She wants to be her own loudspeaker of hate. Restraint is an art form that almost every politician must learn to master. A candidate can quickly turn off and offend potential voters/supporters if they sound like an extremist. In fact, many voters will view that candidate as an idiot, incapable of using restraint while speaking.

Palin is a radical extremist when she speaks at Teabag rallies, or Neocon events, or appearances on Fox News etc. Palin has ZERO skill at mastering the art of restraint. Whatever is on her mind, comes out of her mouth.

Presidents negotiate peace, war, trade, alliances, pacts, treaties. The President negotiates with other world leaders.

The President negotiates war and peace with other world leaders. The prospects of peace are held in the balance when our President negotiates with other world leaders. It's important for a President to be a tough negotiator, but at times must also know when to show restraint.

Imagine Sarah Palin negotiating a peace deal. I could honestly see her losing it and start hurling insults. At other world leaders. If she would be as incapable of showing restraint as President as she is at giving speeches then...

Try imagine Palin negotiating peace.

Imagine Palin, incapable of restraint, as Commander-in-Chief of our military.
Idiots incapable of restraint do not make good military leaders.
They do not make good Presidents.

Do we as a nation, really want an idiot devoid or incapable of restraint to be our next President?

4. that's true..........
I saw a poll a few days ago where she and Newt were tied. And in that poll they came second from the last one.

Clearly Palin doesn't know the meaning of the word restraint. She will say or do anything if she is in front of a camera.....just to get attention.

As early as it is, Palin is polling among GOP frontrunners. I laughed when I saw her come in 3rd or 4th in a couple recent straw polls. At that recent convention of southern Con wingnuts, I think she came in 4th.

When I saw that I immediatly thought, is she speaking herself right out of politics because of the extremist crap that she says. So that's why I wrote an op about lack of restraint.

If she keeps speaking she won't be a frontrunner and may have already damaged herself beyond repair. Which makes me giddy w/excitement.

At one time it might have been safe to call her a frontrunner. Those days are gone, I think.

Peace
UY
