Whoa. My British friend's efforts to get back home before his twins arrive

My friend was in Vegas on business when all the air travel to Britain was curtailed so he flew to NY and rented a car and drove up to Vermont to stay with his aunt. He's now gotten so desperate to get home that he's driving to D.C. to catch a flight to Madrid and taking a train to the French/Spanish border where his brother is picking him up and driving him to Paris. He'll then take a train back to England.
